" There was no doubt in my mind how I ended up here. Not anymore. I was important. I got that now. Or rather my blood was. I was an elementalist, like my mother was. Silvers powers were taken away when she was my age. She abused them. I was a rare sight. I was a keeper of the doors of death, like my father was. Thanatos was death, he controlled who died and who got to live. He was doing god knew what at this very moment. Determining his own child's life span.
This is why I got put in this position. I was being used. The elders or someone, saw how much power I could control, they realized that I was the perfect piece of the game. In a board game, I was protecting the king, who exactly the king was, I was unsure. But I was protecting them. Directly he was my responsibility, but in reality I was like all the other pieces, just a pawn, easily tooken out for the kings sake. I had to think ahead, if I wanted to survive. Except this was real life, not a board game. I wasn't just playing for my own life but also for the lives around me. I had to take out the king, the other king.
